Hi, I’m Linda, a creative blogger from Upstate New York. Creativity has always been one of the ways I find peace in the middle of life’s challenges.
Working with beautiful colors, patterned papers, and handmade creations helps quiet my mind and restore my spirit. I enjoy creating jewelry art, upcycling furniture and home décor, creating personalized gifts, making nature-inspired journals for reflective writing, experimenting with mixed-media art journals, and designing websites.

Creating art inspired by nature reminds me to slow down, notice God’s creation, and find beauty in everyday moments.
Where It All Began
My love of creating began long before I owned craft supplies.
Growing up in the Adirondack Mountains during the 1970s, I spent countless hours outdoors collecting fallen branches, ferns, and other natural materials to build forts and shelters. Those simple structures became places of refuge during the storms of my childhood.
Looking back, I realize I have always been creating—not just for enjoyment, but as a way to cope, heal, and find peace.
Finding Hope Again
As I entered adulthood, life brought many difficult challenges. Abuse and significant losses affected my physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. For a time, the burdens I carried seemed to extinguish my creativity.
Then, one evening in the early 1990s, everything changed.
While attending a city mission in Oakland, California, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. The next morning, I looked out the apartment window and the world seemed different. Hope had returned.
As my faith grew, I came to understand the promise that the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer, bringing comfort, wisdom, strength, and guidance. It truly was a new beginning.
Creating with Purpose
Over the years, I rediscovered the gifts and interests God had placed within me.
For more than twenty years, I worked as a caregiver for elderly adults and individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. During that time, I also taught myself website design, started several blogs, and discovered that reflective writing could be a powerful tool for healing and personal growth.
I began noticing nature in new ways, appreciating the quiet beauty found in ordinary moments, and allowing creativity to become part of my healing journey.
Today, crafting is much more than a hobby. It is a reminder that broken pieces can become something beautiful.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that art doesn’t have to be perfect. Creativity isn’t about perfection—it’s about expression, exploration, and finding joy in the process.
Whether you’re making a journal, creating a collage, restoring an old piece of furniture, or simply putting pen to paper, creativity has a way of slowing us down and helping us reflect.
I hope you’ll explore the projects, tutorials, and journal inspiration I share here. My prayer is that they encourage you to create, reflect, and discover beauty in every season of life.
