There are seasons in life that change us.
My former blog, Abuse Journal.com documented the journey through the darkness. Seasons marked by fear, betrayal, loss, heartbreak, grief, and lingering emotional pain.
Seasons where we silently carry heavy burdens and scattered pieces of ourselves, trying to begin again while wondering whether a better life is even possible.
The Remnants Journal was created for those moments. To reflect on healing, rebuilding, creativity, faith, and learning to live beyond the darkness.
The Remnants Journal is not a place to solve every problem survivors face, nor does it pretend the past did not leave scars. It is a space for self-reflection, honesty, faith, restoration, and gentle renewal. A place to sit with what has been wounded, uncovered, remembered, or carried in silence — and slowly begin tending to those places with compassion.
Healing is rarely quick. Often, it begins slowly with:
- A single honest thought.
- A page filled with truth.
- A quiet prayer.
- A willingness to begin again.
These pages were designed to guide you as you slow down and reflect on your journey with grace. There is no perfect way to move through this journal. You may write a little or a lot. Some pages may come easily, while others may stir emotions you thought were long buried. Permit yourself to move gently, honestly, and at your own pace.
As you reflect, remember: healing is a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. There may be difficult moments along the way, but keep moving forward, because even remnants can become something beautiful, restored, and whole again.
May this journal be a place to rediscover hope, strength, faith, and the possibility of new life after deep hurt. May it remind you that what was fragmented is not beyond restoration.
With gentleness and hope,
L.M. CARLETON
